Yes. Your checklist and your ticks carry over — updating to 2.0 does not reset your progress.

Yes. Both phones need the latest version of Boris. If one phone is behind, Boris tells you to update it.

Yes. No in-app purchases, no premium tier, no subscription. Boris™ is free to download and use entirely.

Yes. The checklists and directory adapt based on your status. OHA is different from LQA, and SOFA rights differ between military and contractor. Boris™ handles those differences.

Yes, that is Team Up. Pair the two phones once — one shows a code, the other scans it — and from then on you both see the same list. A task ticked on either phone is ticked on both, and either of you can claim a task so nobody does the same errand twice. No account is needed. Encrypted updates are delivered through a relay server; both phones need a connection to receive changes.

Yes. Team Up works in either direction: two iPhones, two Android phones, or one of each. Both phones need the latest version of Boris, which is the free update on both stores.

Then you’re lucky — Boris™ will still be useful. Having a good sponsor and having good information aren’t mutually exclusive.

Core features — checklists, reminders, emergency numbers — work fully offline after the first download. The directory and map need a connection for fresh data.

Yes — and you should. Boris™ helps you prepare before you fly. Financial planning, document checklists, and knowing what to expect on day one are all available before you land in Germany.

Yes. Boris™ is on Google Play — search "Boris - PCS Guide" or use the Google Play button on this page. It is the same full app as the iPhone version, including the home-screen widget: free, no account, no personal tracking.

No account or email address is required. Your answers create a local profile on your device. Optional Team Up uses encrypted messages delivered through a relay server; see the privacy policy for details.

Only if you explicitly allow it to show nearby resources on the map — and only in that moment. Boris™ never tracks you in the background.

Boris™ doesn’t ask for your name, rank or unit, and there is no account. Your move dates and answers are stored on your phone. With Team Up, encrypted messages pass through a relay server to the phone you pair. Everything in the app comes from public sources, and Boris™ is not an official source of military information, so it never publishes operational or non-public details. If you see something in the app that shouldn’t be there, email [email protected] and Cristian will review it.

No. Boris™ is an independent project. Cristian, who runs a TLA in the KMC and moved here from South America, built it. It’s not affiliated with the Department of Defense or any military branch.

Boris is free for families. Local businesses can pay for Gold placement, which is labeled and only appears where it matches a real need — for example, as an optional suggestion below a checklist step’s official instructions. No forced placement in the checklist, entitlements or emergency contacts. Paying never changes the facts or the order of the free list. Boris™ is free for military families, and the local businesses that support it help keep it that way.
